Honeymoon Happies: Astoria

Hiya folks – Well, the husband and I finally took our honeymoon – much belated, yes, but allowing us to get house set up here in Portland as a married couple for a few months (not to mention avoiding the busy tourist travel season, yay!) before taking an awesome two week trip around our neighbor to the north, Washington.  There are of course a ton of photos so I’m divvying this trip up by each area of the state we hit up. It was a great getaway but as we all know, road trips are tiring and the nice thing about vacations is they remind you how awesome home is as well 🙂

After driving down Hwy 30 along the Columbia River, we arrived to Astoria on the most perfect 75 degree day…

We arrived at our destination, the Cannery Pier Hotel, which sits not waterfront but ON the water. Pretty amazing! Blue skies made it impossibly perfect 🙂

We both agree this first hotel room was the most gorgeous of all of them that we stayed. The corner king room and this insane view – so worth it!

The view from our balcony – not bad eh?

My honey was lovin’ the binoculars they provided – nice extra touches (along with the card & bottle of champagne the staff left to congratulate us)!

After going gaga over the room, we took advantage of the hotel’s complimentary bicycles to take a ride along the water.

Yes, this is a selfie taken while I was riding (kids don’t try this!)…

…and yep, held my arm up to snap my honey enjoying the ride as well!

So many birds enjoying the day as well!

Fell in love with the seals too 🙂

Enjoyed lunch at Street 14 Coffee – great service, yummy food chill vibe, and delicious blackberry sodas!

Another peaceful view from the waterfront as we rode back to the hotel…

Watching the sun set from the dock…the Astoria-Megler Bridge is pretty amazing and we were psyched that the next morning we’d be crossing it!
